Embark on an Exciting Whale Watching Adventure in Open Sea
Whale season: November to March, but the activity keeps going on all year around for Sunrise and other marine species such as dolphines, turtles, mantarays and more.
Combine the thrill of whale watching with the exploration of three stunning beaches in Puerto Ángel, Oaxaca. Departing from Playa Panteón, this 3-hour adventure will take you to discover the majesty of the ocean as we search for whales and other marine life. Along the way, we’ll visit three beaches for some snorkelling: Boquilla, La Mina, Estacahuite, or Playa del Muerto, choice depending on the day’s conditions.
Puerto Ángel, Oaxaca, is a special destination for whale watching due to its unique geographical location and the rich marine ecosystem it supports. Every year, the Pacific Ocean becomes a migration route for humpback whales, which travel from the cold waters to the warmer waters of the Mexican coast, where they give birth and nurse their calves. The bay of Puerto Ángel and nearby protected areas provide calm, shallow waters perfect for observing these majestic creatures in their natural environment.

We have 3 departures daily: 6-9 am., 10 am.-1 pm., 1-4 pm.
Includes: Boat transport, certified guide, life jacket and snorkel equipment.
Duration: 3 hours shared bout tour. Price: 600 MXP per person
Private experience
For a more personalized adventure, this 3-hour tour offers the exclusivity of a private boat for you and your group. Customize every aspect of the trip, including stops at your preferred beaches and snorkeling spots, while we search for whales, dolphins, and turtles in the open sea.
Includes: Boat transport, certified guide, life jacket and snorkel equipment.
Duration: 3 hours, fully customizable.
Price: 1,500 MXP per person (minimum 4 people max 10).
Note for both experiences: Pay 100% online at the time of booking is mandatory for the shared experience, in the private one you can choose between paying 100% or 50% online and the remaining 50% in cash at the beginning of the adventure.

Whales are wild animals and their behavior is unpredictable.
It is also likely to encounter other type of fauna like dolphins, turtles and manta rays.

Such an amazing experience! We swam with sea turtles in clear, turquoise water—absolutely magical. The guides were great, and we got some really cool photos to remember it all. A must-do if you’re in Tulum!
I booked for 2 people at the Bahía Principe Luxury Akumal hotel, before I confirmed it, I explained to the tour salesman that my wife doesn't know how to notice, he kept saying there are no problems, she can stay on the boat without going into the water, but when we got to the beach for excursions, they said you have to know how to notice, so we didn't go on excursions, returning to the hotel we asked for a refund, instead they didn't give us back 150 dollars, we called the hotel manager, there's nothing we can do, for they are scammers wait!
We were lucky enough to take the tour with Ulysses, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. From the beginning, he was incredibly friendly and professional, making sure we had the right equipment and explaining everything to us with great knowledge about the turtles and their ecosystem.
During the tour, he guided us patiently and allowed us to enjoy swimming safely and respectful of nature. Plus, he took amazing photos of us swimming with the turtles, a memory we will cherish forever.
